Properties of stevia

The main useful property of stevia is high sweetness with low caloric content. One hundred grams of stevia leaves contain only 20 calories, which makes this herb indispensable for people who monitor their weight and want to lose weight.

Stevia leaves can be used in dry form for brewing tea. From fresh leaves, liquid syrup and extract are produced, as well as tableted sweeteners. Stevia is successfully used in cooking and cosmetology.

Method of application

1. Recipe for tea with stevia: 1 tablespoon of crushed stevia leaves pour 1 liter of water at a temperature of 80-90 gr., infuse for 10-15 minutes. The infusion acquires a light brown color, sweet taste and pleasant aroma. Stevia perfectly combines in a chat with other herbs - thyme, oregano, St. John's wort, lime color. The sweetness of the tea can be "regulated" by the number of stevia leaves in the composition.

2. Stevia infusion for baking: 100 g. dry stevia leaves pour 1 liter of boiling water and boil for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat and infuse for another 10 minutes, then strain. Infuse in a thermos for 10-12 hours. If this infusion is evaporated over low heat to a thick consistency, you will get stevia syrup.
