Description

Lemongrass is a herb native to Southeast Asia. It is actively used in cooking and for making herbal tea. Without its spicy lemon flavor and specific island taste, it is impossible to imagine the cuisine of Southeast Asia and India. Lemongrass is used fresh and dried, sliced and powdered. Lemongrass essential oil is also very popular.

Please note! Our lemongrass is imported from Thailand and consists of the lower parts of the plant, which in contrast to the ginger grass (green tops) has a much brighter aroma and taste.

Usage benefits

- Has antimicrobial and antifungal effects due to the essential oils contained in it.

- Normalizes digestion, helps to cope with the disorder of the stomach in cases of poisoning

- Has a calming sedative effect, relieves headaches.

- Active diuretic-strengthens the kidneys.

Application methods

1. In cooking, lemongrass is used in the preparation of meat and seafood, soups and curries. It gives the dish a rich citrus flavor and a slight sharpness. Since the stems of the plant in dried form are quite hard, it is best to add lemongrass powder to the dishes. To do this, the dried grass can be crushed in a coffee grinder.

2. Tea made from lemongrass is perfect for evening get-togethers - it relieves fatigue and soothes. To prepare it, add one teaspoon of dried herbs to a cup, pour boiling water and infuse for 5 minutes, then strain. Mint and ginger are perfectly combined with lemongrass in tea. You can also add another Thai component - matum.

Lemongrass is not recommended for use by pregnant and lactating women, as well as those who are allergic to this product.
