Description

This is a perennial plant that sometimes grows into a shrub or semi-shrub.

The stem of the plant is branched, strongly developed. The leaves are oval, collected in the form of feathers, each of which has 5-9 pairs. The flowers of the plant form cluster-shaped racemes, with a bell-shaped Cup. Red root fruits are represented by beans United in unprotected pods. The rhizome is developed, goes 2 meters deep and reaches a thickness of 10 cm. No other plant in the Legume family can boast such a large root. The genus of sweetvetch is represented by more than 150 species. Most often grows in areas with a cold or moderate climate. On the territory of the former CIS, you can find about 130 species of plants. Most of these species are represented by herbaceous plants. On Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands, it occurs in the form of semi-shrubs. The plant also grows in subalpine meadows. Red root prefers wet soil with high humus contained. It grows mainly in river valleys, mountain slopes and tundras. It is found at altitudes exceeding 3000 meters. The plant is not cultivated on an industrial scale, but it is quite often found in vegetable gardens in the Altai and Kazakhstan.

Composition

The Sweetvetch has a complex chemical composition; sweetvetch contains flavonoids, pectin, vitamin A and starch. The root contains catechin, a substance that by its nature is a flavonoid, helps to remove harmful substances and heavy metals from the body, strengthen the walls of blood vessels and neutralize the action of free radicals. During growth, the red root accumulates selenium.

Application

Decoction of crushed root to prevent men's problems, 25 grams of crushed root are filled with a liter of boiling water, then cooked for 5-10 minutes on low heat. Insist for about an hour, preferably in a thermos bottle. You can drink the broth as tea – with the addition of honey or sugar. The daily rate of broth is 200 ml per day. Distribute it evenly throughout the day.

Honey extract for tonic action. To prepare this extract, you can take any natural honey of good quality. In a liter jar, pour 80 grams of crushed roots and leaves, then pour 400 ml of honey. Keep in the light for 2-3 weeks. At the end of the term, the remains of the root should be removed, and the honey should be poured into another jar.
