Description
An annual herbaceous semi-parasitic plant with a weakly-pubescent stem. The leaves are opposite, sessile, ovate, toothed. Flowers are small, axillary, white, with blue longitudinal veins. The Corolla with a double bend.bend. Height 10 – 30 cm.
The time of flowering. July-September.
Habitat. It grows in forests, meadows, on slopes and shrubs, on deposits, pastures, on roadsides.
The part used. Grass (stems, leaves, flowers}.
The time of collection. July-September.
Chemical composition
Insufficiently studied. It is known that Eyebright contains glycosides that act on the heart.
Application
Water infusion of the plant is used for washing in diseases of the eyes (which is why the name of the plant — Eyebright). The infusion of Eyebright is also used inside for sore throat (angina).
Method of application
40 g of herbs infuse 2-3 hours in 1 litre of water, strain. Take 1/2 glass 3-4 times a day.
