Description

A small tree with non-pinnate pilate leaves. The flowers are small, white, fragrant, with many stamens and pistils. Fruits-bright orange false drupes, incorrectly called "berries", are collected in corymbose brushes. Height 4 – 15 m.

Chemical composition

Application

Rowan is widely used in folk medicine. The fruit has an anti-scurvy, mild laxative, diuretic, astringent, anti-inflammatory and hemostatic effect. Decoction and infusion of fruits are used for beriberi, diarrhea, dysentery, constipation, kidney stones, rheumatism and hemorrhoids. In scientific medicine, the fruit is used as a preventive and therapeutic agent for beriberi. Rowan fruit is a part of vitamin collections. The fruit is used in the confectionery and liquor industry.

Method of application
