In world, there are more than 60 species of rosehip. Species of the genus rosehip (rose) are divided into 8 groups — sections. Most are rich in vitamin C rose hips cinnamon-sections — spammee.

Distribution. Cinnamon Rose is found in forest and steppe zones of the Europe and Asia.

Chemical composition

Fruits contain sugars (about 18%), pectin substances (3.7%), tannins (up to 4.5%), citric acid (about 2%), malic acid and other organic acids, vitamin C (on average 2 – 3%, or 2000 – 3000 mg), carotene (12 – 18 mg), vitamins B2 (about 0.03 mg), K (up to 40 biological units), P (citrine), flavonol glucosides kaempferol and quercetin, the pigments lycopene and rubixanthin.

In Tibetan medicine, rosehip is used for tuberculosis of the lungs, arteriosclerosis and neurasthenia. Externally, a decoction of roots is used for baths for paralysis and" weakness " of the legs. Method of application
