Description
Small evergreen branching creeping shrub with dark brown branches. Leaves are small, narrowly elliptic. Flowers are unisexual, pink, with three petals, sessile, axillary. The fruit is a globular blue-black sour berry with purple juice. Height (length) 20 to 100 cm.

Habitat. It grows in peat bogs, wet forests, moss-lichen and stony tundras.
The part used. Grass (stems with leaves).

Unexplored. It is known that the plant contains tannins, vitamin C and andromedotoxin.
Application
The herbal infusion is used for fatigue, headache, as a means that has a favorable effect on the central nervous system, as well as as an anti-scurvy. An infusion of herbs is used for paralysis in Transbaikalia. The fruit is sometimes eaten.
