Description

A perennial herbaceous aromatic plant with erect tall stems. Leaves are pubescent, intermittently non-pinnate, with oblong toothed leaflets. The flowers are small, golden-yellow, with many stamens. The flowers are collected in a long spike-shaped inflorescence. Fruits-small bristly tenacious achenes. Height 30 – 125 cm.

The plant contains essential oil, tannins and traces of vitamin K.

Application

The common agrimony is widely used in folk medicine. The plant regulates liver function, increases intestinal activity, improves digestion and has a diuretic, choleretic, astringent, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and General tonic effect. Herbal infusion is used as an adjunct for various liver diseases: cirrhosis, stones, etc. herbal Infusion is also used for various stomach diseases, especially diarrhea and lethargy (atony) of the intestine, and for jaundice, rheumatism, gout, lumbago and hemorrhoids. Decoction of the common agrimony herb with honey is drunk for diseases of the liver, kidneys, heart and stomach.

A decoction of roots is taken for running rheumatism, hemorrhoids and tumors of benign and malignant, and an infusion of flowers — for various skin rashes and hemorrhoids. Decoction of leaves is used for fever, diarrhea, and as a diuretic for dropsy. Externally, the water infusion of the common agrimony is used for rinsing in inflammatory processes of the mouth and pharynx, the amygdala, as well as for irrigation of the nasal cavity with a runny nose. The common agrimony infusion is also used for compresses, washings and lotions for abrasions, bruises, ulcers, rashes and other skin diseases, and for foot baths when feeling tired after a long walk. Fresh crushed leaves are applied to inflamed areas of the skin.

Method of application

1. 1 teaspoon of dry Common agrimony grass boil 2-3 minutes in 1 cup of boiling water in a closed container, insist 2-3 hours, strain. Take 1/3 cup 3 times a day 15 minutes before meals. Sweeten the infusion to taste.

2. Chop the dry leaves of the turnip into a powder. Take 0.5 g 4 times a day 15 minutes before meals.

3. 6 tablespoons of the Common agrimony grass boil for 3 minutes in 1 liter of water in a closed container, insist for 4 hours, strain. Warm infusion is used for washing, lotions, compresses, rinses and for foot baths when feeling tired after a long walk.
